Here we are again! And as promised I will post the first of two parts of my travelreport about the Museum of the Austrian Air Force in Zeltweg/Styria. 8 of our group went down there and we had a lot of fun as you can see in some of these pictures! The biggest surprise was perhaps our tour guide which was a former Austrian jet pilot who not only flew the Draken but several other types as well. With a total of about 11.000 hrs of flight time you could surely speak of competence! The tour was very interesting and we were able to take as much pictures as we wanted. Each of us was allowed to take a seat in a Draken too an offer we all accepted, even so that some of us had some "small" problems getting out of that tiny cockpit! Well we all are no longer 17 years old! Only Arne our "smallest" guy did not get enough and tried afterwards to get in an even smaller cockpit but see for your self. Part II will be posted in a few days. In this I will post several detail photos of the Draken, so please come back for more if you like and keep on modeling, René Hieronymus |
